madrid's sky - change at lima

I have heard the sky of madrid is something unique and special - it turned out to be true. i was fascinated on both days, enjoy the photos.

We are couch surfing (http://www.couchsurfing.org/) - the future way of travelling perhaps. We live in a flat of a painter -  he is from argentina but came along to madrid to see what is going on here in europe... One of his friends is from El Salvador  - living here illegally for 3 years... If they catch you, you get a "no no no" and a paper that you should live this place within 6 months. Someone already has 3 of this, so obviosly it is not so strict :)

I am making friends with the dear cucarachas (cocroaches)  which are not so bad here, quite small. They said in Argentina they should be huge, so I ma getting prepared.

We live in the quarter of Embajadores, close to el Latino and el Rastro. The latter one gives place to the big markets on Sundays. We  were lucky to come across with it, coz 9th Nov Monday turned out to be a madrid holiday. It is the day of the padron of Madrid. She is called Almudena, but anyway, actally it is just the virgin with another name. Rastroo is inceridble, selling everything, check out my photoes.

The little bear climbing on a tree to eat strawberries is the symbol for madrid - i used to think it was way much bigger! It is so small they have to put it up to make it recognisable :) Now they have moved it from it is original place, due to the new glass station and Puerta del Sol. Funny names they have in madrid, one quarter close to us is called Lavapies (Feetwasher)....
The gay district is popular area to go out - i have seen some funny travesties around...

I have learnt the so called junkies (pronounce it yunkies) are here from the Movida period from the 8Âșies, they got destroyed but are still alive mostly on heroine...

Art is for free here: i have seen tons of expositions and all were gratis. Keep on with it! yeaaaah

Our dear aircompany has changed our flight again. It is the third time! We will change in Lima Peru - instead of the direct flight to Buenos Aires. I have no  idea what reason they could have for this - but the 5 hours more will be terribly boring. Could be nice to stay in lima, watch the machu picchu and then go on to BA :)

see you in Buenos Aires
